The hiring landscape across the digital shipping space continued to accelerate throughout 2020 and into 2021. The spotlight on reducing carbon emissions, improving vessel performance efficiency, automating powering and navigation, compliance and cybersecurity has created high demand for skilled personnel in sales, product management and data analysis functions. We have started to see “digital shipping hubs” emerging where clusters of start-ups, established software providers and large JVs are basing themselves. Hamburg, Oslo, London, Athens and Singapore being thriving market places.
